Every Fall, Furman alumni make an annual pilgrimage back to Greenville for a weekend filled with friends and tradition. Forbes recently named Furman one of America’s Top Colleges, ranking #19 in the South and #83 in the over list of 100 schools. There’s no doubt as to how or why Furman made the elusive list. The university not only offers a top notch education for their students but also a bustling student life where bonds form fast between friends. During Homecoming, these proud alumni leave their day to day routine behind and travel back to their ‘college town’ to relive their youth. It’s amazing to watch our lobby come to life as friends from around the country gather for a weekend of fun.
Even though the university will have a plethora of alumni events for their former students to attend, we suggest spending some time downtown and seeing how Greenville has changed over the years. If you’re arriving on Friday, we suggest catching up with friends at The Lazy Goat , located conveniently right outside of our lobby. With a relaxed atmosphere, tapas style servings, and attentive staff, The Lazy Goat is the perfect venue for meeting close friends before a big weekend on the town. Saturday morning, if you’re in need of a little pick me up before the big game, swing by Tealoha or Moe Joe to recharge with a delicious caffeinated (or decaffeinated) beverage. Saturday night is our town’s night to shine! If you’re in the mood for some piano dueling fun head over to Jack n’ Diane’s. If you’d you rather spend the night playing darts and pool, check out Barley’s! Dancing diva? Head over to Ford’s. End the weekend on a high note with Sunday brunch in Falls Park at Passerelle or along the river at Blue’s Boulevard.
