Hallo-Weekend

Celebrating the year’s eeriest holiday in Greenville? Spooktacular! Some think the holiday is all about the costumes and candy, but not in Greenville! It’s all about going to the most epic parties of the year!

With the kiddos? Head over to #Glow with the Flow Rave hosted at Bons Secours Wellness Arena. A family friendly dance party that’s  appropriate for all ages. Tickets begin at $30 and go up in price for VIP status. The doors open at 8 pm for guests, earlier for VIPs. With over 5 hours of dancing and 10 DJs your sure to burn off all of your candy calories and then some! Proceeds of the event go to the Cardiac Arrest Awareness Foundation.

If a Rave isn’t your scene, check out 6 Feet Under: Party to Die For at Old Cigar Warehouse hosted by Liquid Catering. The company’s 5th annual Halloween bash is a crowd pleaser! Party starts at 9 pm, tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door. They include snacks from Krystal Burgers and 5 drink tickets- don’t be scared, after your drink tickets run out you can use cash or card to continue the party. With a fully stocked bar, music from celebrity DJ EZ, and costume contest you’re sure to enjoy the thrills and chills they’re hosting!

Halloween may be on Friday, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get dressed up on Saturday too! Thomas Creek Brewery is a local award winning brewery and this year they are hosting their 10th annual Brewery Bash. This kid friendly, pet friendly event is literally fun for the entire family. With all you can eat BBQ, brats, and over 11 different types of beer to choose from you’re sure to be in flavor heaven! Tickets are $20 at the door and includes 3 complimentary beers. There will be live music from The Matt Fassas Trip and a costume contest. This is an outdoor event, rain or shine! All proceeds from the event will go the The United Way Found- there’s nothing better than partying for a cause!

However you choose to spend your thriller weekend, remember to be safe! Always check your candy before you start snacking and always have responsible fun. Use a designated driver and book a room with us downtown so you don’t have to drive home if you have been living it up with libations. We’ll have a room ready for you- have a ghoulishly good weekend!

Coming Home

Every Fall, Furman alumni make an annual pilgrimage back to Greenville for a weekend filled with friends and tradition. Forbes recently named Furman one of America’s Top Colleges, ranking #19 in the South and #83 in the over list of 100 schools. There’s no doubt as to how or why Furman made the elusive list. The university not only offers a top notch education for their students but also a bustling student life where bonds form fast between friends. During Homecoming, these proud alumni leave their day to day routine behind and travel back to their ‘college town’ to relive their youth. It’s amazing to watch our lobby come to life as friends from around the country gather for a weekend of fun.

Even though the university will have a plethora of alumni events for their former students to attend, we suggest spending some time downtown and seeing how Greenville has changed over the years.  If you’re arriving on Friday, we suggest catching up with friends at The Lazy Goat , located conveniently right outside of our lobby. With a relaxed atmosphere, tapas style servings, and attentive staff, The Lazy Goat is the perfect venue for meeting close friends before a big weekend on the town. Saturday morning, if you’re in need of a little pick me up before the big game, swing by Tealoha or Moe Joe to recharge with a delicious caffeinated (or decaffeinated) beverage. Saturday night is our town’s night to shine! If you’re in the mood for some piano dueling fun head over to Jack n’ Diane’s. If you’d you rather spend the night playing darts and pool, check out Barley’s! Dancing diva? Head over to Ford’s. End the weekend on a high note with Sunday brunch in Falls Park at Passerelle  or along the river at Blue’s Boulevard.

However you decide to spend Homecoming weekend, we are glad you decided to spend it with us at RiverPlace- see you soon!
